Doing Decolonial Research

This reading group explores decolonial research as a collective process of acknowledging, recording, sharing, and circulating knowledge of indigenous and marginalized knowledges.

The aim is to understand the core of decolonial research, knowledge recovery, and and knowledge restitution.

“Doing Decolonial Research” a four-stage programme, whose purpose is to train researchers on how to do decolonial research in all the academic disciplines.

Drkasembeliresearch Centre recognises that colonialism, which is both Western and local, shaped systems that taught us to doubt the value of our own knowledge. We aim to repair this epistemic violence and to create new, liberated ways of knowing, through reading, reflection, and continued dialogue.
